We thought it would be fun to create a blog that you can visit anytime you want and share with your family and friends all of the fun and exciting things we will be doing in Activity Days! Science with SOUND and FIRE

We learned about sound waves on November 11th in Sister Cheesman's classroom at PVMS. We heard music and saw how it effected a flame tube that would go up and down, showing us amplitude. The girls played chimes to see the difference in the pitch of a sound wave with a long or short medium. The long chimes have a longer medium for the sound waves to travel through, so the pitch is lower. The short chimes have a smaller medium to the sound waves to travel through, so the pitch is higher.
